Analyzing a lesson plan
For this activity, we will take some time to look at an example of a lesson plan designed for a 6th Grade ELA classroom. Drawing on the ideas we've explored in this module and your previous knowledge about literacy instruction, analyze the lesson plan, and post your response to the accompanying Discussion Forum on your course page (if applicable).

Your post should be a minimum of 300 words and address the following areas:
- Point out areas that are vague or lacking detail. If you can't visualize what is happening, chances are I cannot either. It is very challenging to give meaningful feedback if the details leave too much to the imagination.
- Identify areas that seem poorly aligned or confusing for students. This might include the organization of activities or connections between components of the planning process. The Backward Design process can help you here.
- Add any wonderings. Do you have authentic questions about what is written? Or ideas for how the teacher might think about revising the lesson prior to teaching?
