As a new faculty member at Ferris State University, I'm excited to begin this adventure in my home state of Michigan where I completed most of my schooling (MSU, GVSU, Caledonia and Grand Rapids Public School Districts), teaching (Gull Lake Community Schools), and coaching activities. I recently returned to my hometown of Grand Rapids after living in Madison for the past four years as a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My work is in Literacy Studies and Teacher Education, and I've taught a variety of literacy courses to both preservice and practicing teachers. I also work extensively with UW's PLACE (Professional Learning and Community Education) as an instructor in the Student-Centered Coaching Certificate program.
Personally, my life is pretty much consumed by my babies, who just turned 1 and 2. And who could ever forget the biggest baby of all, my Havanese named Oliver.
